The OmniStack 6100 Series

The Alcatel OmniStack 6124 and OmniStack 6148

base units interoperate with all existing ethernet

and fast ethernet equipment and cabling, thereby

protecting your network investment. With these

switches, workgroup networks can be upgraded

for higher performance simply and cost-

effectively, with minimum disruption.

Features

The OmniStack 6124 and 6148 are cost-effective,

feature-rich Layer 2 workgroup switches. Their

powerful stacking architecture offers scalability

from 24 to 172 ports. A comprehensive feature

set and wide variety of uplinks means versatility

that allows you to build a network infrastructure

ready for data and voice integration. In addition,

it is fully compatible with the Alcatel

OmniSwitch, Omni Switch/Router, OmniCore,

and OmniAccess switching products.

ethernet switch ports

> 10BaseT/100BaseTX ports provide auto-

negotiation for speed and duplex mode

selection

> 10/100/1000BaseT autosensing GE over copper

uplink

> Optional dual-port fast ethernet ﬁber modules

and single-port GE modules provide ﬂexible

high-performance connectivity to backbone

networks

> Supports up to ﬁve four-port trunks per switch

including expansion units, each combining up

to four 100BaseTX or 1000BaseFX ports into a

full duplex fat pipe

> Optional stack module for connecting up to

six units, linking up to 172 ports via a 4 Gbps

backplane

> Optional redundant stacking loop for

continuous packet forwarding

> Prevents packet loss with back pressure and

802.3x ﬂow control
