Gigabit fiber interfaces on the
OmniSwitch 6855-U10 and
OmniSwitch 6855-U24X models
support Gigabit SFP or 100Base-X
SFP optical transceivers. See the full
list of supported transceivers at the
end of the data sheet.
Power supplies
OmniSwitch 6855 models support
redundant, hot-swappable AC, DC
or PoE power supplies. The primary
and the backup power supply units
are external, allowing for easier
maintenance and replacement.
There is no interruption of service
when a new power supply is
installed or an old one replaced.

The power supplies for the half rack
models come in the form of a power
brick in either AC or DC variant. A
separate power brick provides PoE
power and is available for purchase
when PoE is required.
Any power supply can be remotely
connected using a cable, which
enables rack mounting using the
mounting ears provided with the
unit. This feature allows for space-
sensitive installations requiring
reduced depth (for example, in a
wall-mounted cabinet).
